Audio System - iPod(R) Track Display Errors

SUBJECT:
iPod Track Display

INTRODUCTION

If you encounter a customer complaint that the Clarion Bluetooth Audio Unit will only display 255 (artist, albums, song titles) even though there are more stored on their iPod, a reprogramming tile is now available to remedy the condition If the stored music is over 256 the display will return to the top of the list

The updated software was used in production starting with the following VINs.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

The reprogramming file will need to be downloaded from Subarunet onto a 2GB USB 20 Flash Drive The file, Flash Drive preparation instructions, and downloading instructions can be found on Subarunet, under:

Subarunet > Service > Forms > Service Bulletin 15-145-10 Download

Note:
The 2GB USB 20 Flash Drive should have the following attributes:

^ Formatted FAT32

^ Virus Free





^ Contain no content (other than the downloaded reprogramming file)

REPAIR PROCEDURE/INFORMATION

Note:
Make sure the battery is fully charged. If connected, disconnect iPod from iPod interface. Remove any disc from CD player.

1) Turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" position.

2) Turn audio unit off.





3) Push the 5, 6 and TEXT keys at the same time.





The audio unit will display the current software version





4) Push the 5, 6 and CD/AUX keys at the same time





The audio unit will display the following.





5) Insert the flash drive into the VSB port which is located in the center console.
Note: Do not remove flash drive until reprogramming is completed.

The updating process will begin automatically and takes approximately 8 minutes.

The audio unit screen will go blank (Audio off mode)

6) Remove the flash drive from the USB port.





7) Push the 5, 6 and TEXT keys at the same time.





The audio unit will display the following (Updated software version)





8) Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position: Reprogramming is now complete.

Note:
If the audio unit displays any of the following error messages during reprogramming, start over beginning at step 5

Reprogramming will not be required if the battery is disconnected in the future

Up to $15.00 may be charged out in sublet to cover the cost of the USB Flash Drive. The sublet can only be charged out one time per dealer regardless of the number of claims submitted.
