PART INFORMATION

SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION

If a gap is verified between the bumper fascia and the fender as shown in the left hand photo above, it is likely the fascia has come loose from the side mounting bracket(s).

NOTE:
Inspect the vehicle for any collision-related factors or other outside influence which may effect the fit of the front bumper fascia before proceeding.

^ Follow the procedures in the applicable Service Manual to remove the front bumper fascia. IMPORTANT: Be sure to protect the headlamp lenses with vinyl tape as shown in the photo below in the areas where they may be contacted or scratched by the top corners of the front bumper fascia during removal. An illustration of the revised front bumper fascia side mounting bracket is shown below, right.

^ If the vehicle was manufactured before October, 2010, replace the front bumper fascia along with the side mounting brackets.

^ If the vehicle was manufactured between October, 2010 and November, 2011, replace only the side mounting brackets.

^ IMPORTANT: Regardless of the vehicle's production date, closely inspect the attachment points of both the front bumper fascia and the side mounting brackets for damage. If any are damaged or broken, replace the front bumper fascia and / or the side mounting brackets as necessary.

^ If there is any peeling of the paint film on the corner of the front bumper fascia, regardless of the vehicles production date, cut to size then apply the cushion tape as shown in the illustrations. IMPORTANT: Be sure to clean any dirt or grease from the cushion tape mounting surfaces before application.

^ Touch up the peeling paint as necessary.

^ Reinstall the front bumper fascia. Because of the increased interlocking force applied by the revised components, more effort may be required to get it properly "locked" into position.

^ Remove the protective vinyl tape from the headlights to complete the procedure.
