SUBJECT: Intake Manifold PCV Nipple Change
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform you of a manufacturing change. A modification was made to the intake manifold PCV nipple. The PCV mounting plate and PCV nipple are now one part.
COUNTERMEASURE IN PRODUCTION
The new style PCV mounting plate/nipple was used in production the middle of August, 2010.
PART INFORMATION
Note:
The new style intake manifold can be used on vehicles built prior to the countermeasure in production with the new style PCV mounting plate/nipple.
REPAIR PROCEDURE/INFORMATION
When installing the new style PCV mounting plate/nipple, the 0-ring will also need to be replaced.
Mounting plate tightening torque: 7.8 Nm (0.79 kgf-m, 5.75 ft-lb)
When installing the old style PCV nipple to the old style intake manifold, apply liquid gasket to the PCV nipple threads before installing.
Liquid gasket: THREE BOND 1105 (Part No. 004403010) or equivalent 3M(TM) Ultrapro(TM) High Temp Silicone Gasket.
PCV nipple tightening torque: 23 Nm (2.3 kgf-m, 16.9 ft-lb)
