Engine - Oil Seepage From L/H Cylinder Head

2008MY and Later Models with 3.6L Engine

SUBJECT:
Oil Seepage from Left-Hand (B2) Cylinder Head

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this Bulletin is to supply countermeasure and repair procedure information to address customer concerns of oil seepage from the left side, bank two (B2) cylinder head gasket. Oil mist contained in crankcase vapors may accumulate and begin to seep from the top of the cylinder block at the head gasket sealing area.

COUNTERMEASURE IN PRODUCTION





Modified head gaskets were incorporated into production starting with engine number 0471920. The starting VIN numbers below are provided as a reference only. Always use the engine number for final confirmation.

PART INFORMATION





The head gasket modification started in production on 3/12/2012.

SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION

Once the oil seepage has been verified and the source isolated to the LEFT head gasket as described in this Bulletin, replace the left side, bank two (B2) head gasket per the procedures outlined in the applicable Service Manual.
