Memory Height and / or Temporary Stop
Features Inoperative

INTRODUCTION

This Bulletin provides a repair procedure for the following two conditions:

^ The power rear gate (PRG) system Memory Height and / or Temporary Stop feature is completely inoperative.

^ The inability of the PRG to remain stopped in a partially open position once commanded to do so (Temporary Stop failure). Instead, the rear gate will stop briefly while opening then proceed to the full open position.





The cause is a small burr which can restrict the movement of the plunger in the drive unit stop actuator. In addition, DTC B2523 may be stored in the BIU (body integrated unit) memory.

For this Service Bulletin, the specific range of VINs listed below have the possibility of being affected:

PART INFORMATION

SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION

^ Upon confirmation of the symptom(s) described in the introduction, replace the complete power rear gate drive unit assembly following the procedure in the applicable Service Manual.

^ After installation is complete, perform the function check procedure below:

1. Close the rear gate fully.

2. Start the engine.

3. Turn on the headlights to create a high current draw condition on the electrical system.

4. Confirm the power rear gate Memory Height and Temporary Stop features operate normally two or three times before releasing the vehicle.
