Changing Fluid

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove universal joint flange of propeller shaft, lower and move shaft to the right.
3. Loosen bolts on oil pan, then drain oil into suitable container. Remove bolts, then oil pan and gasket.
4. Clean pan and dry thoroughly with compressed air.
5. Clean strainer screen, replace if necessary using new gasket.
6. Reverse procedure to refill, noting the following:
a. Torque pan and U-joint flange bolts to specification.
b. Check fluid level with transmission at room temperature and at normal operating temperature as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/CHECKING FLUID LEVEL.
