Removal and Installation

Fig. 2 Exploded View Of Steering Column:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering wheel, Fig. 2.
2. Remove turn signal/dimmer switch, then disconnect ignition switch electrical connectors.
3. On automatic transmission models, disconnect brake interlock cable from ignition switch assembly and clamp.
4. Disconnect steering joint by removing joint bolt.
5. Remove steering column mounting bolts, then the steering column assembly.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
