Main Relay (Computer/Fuel System): Testing and Inspection

Main And Fuel Pump Relay Circuit:

NOTE: Distinguish between main relay and fuel pump relay by wire colors.

- Disconnect negative cable at battery.

Fuel Pump Relay, ECM And Main Relay Location:

- Remove main relay from its bracket after disconnecting its coupler.

Inspecting Relay (Resistance):

Fuel Pump/Main Relay Specification:

- Check resistance between each two terminals as illustrated.

- If check results are as specified, proceed to next operation check. If not, replace.

Inspecting Relay (Function):

- Check that there is continuity between terminals "A" and "B" when battery is connected to terminals "C" and "D".
- If found defective, replace.
- Install relay and connect its coupler securely.
