Engine Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor:

REMOVAL
- Disconnect negative cable from battery.
- Drain cooling system.
- Disconnect coupler from ECT sensor.
- Remove ECT sensor from intake manifold.


INSTALLATION
- Reverse removal procedure noting the following.
^ Clean mating surfaces of sensor and intake manifold.
^ Use new gasket.
^ Tighten ECT sensor to specified torque.


Tightening Torque (a): 12.5-17.5 N.m (1.25-1.75 kg-m 9.5-12.5 Ib.-ft)

^ Connect coupler to sensor securely.
^ Refill cooling system.
