Fig. 35 Water Pump Front Cover Seals:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
2. Remove timing belt and tensioner as outlined under Timing Belt.
3. Remove seal between oil pump and water pump, then the dipstick tube with dipstick.
4. Remove alternator adjusting arm, then the water pump.
5. Reverse procedure to install, using new gasket and rubber seals, Fig. 35.
