INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
This DTC identifies a short to battery between the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) and the "BRAKE" warning light or an open driver that does not allow the "BRAKE" warning light to be illuminated by the EBCM. This will only occur if an Antilock Brake System (ABS) fault is detected that may degrade base brake performance.

FAILURE CONDITION:
DTC 88 can be set only at the beginning of the three second bulb check or when the EBCM turns on the "BRAKE " warning light because of another DTC. If the E BCM detects battery voltage on the " BRAKE " warning light control circuit, a malfunction exists.
