Load Compensator: Service and Repair






REMOVAL
1. Clean around reservoir cap and take out fluid with syringe or equivalent.
2. Hoist vehicle.
3. Disconnect brake pipes from LSPV.





4. Remove LSPV assembly from vehicle body. As shown, LSPV assembly should be removed together with its spring and stay installed as they are.
5. Remove spring and stay from lever.

CAUTION:
^ None of the nuts and bolt of the LSPV assembly should be loosened or tightened.
^ LSPV assembly must not be disassembled.
^ Replace with new one if defective.

INSTALLATION
Install by reversing removal procedure, noting the following.
1. Apply multi-purpose grease to upper and lower joint of coil spring.





2. Torque each bolt and nut as specified below and in the figure. Torque bolts (a) to 23 Nm (17.0 ft. lbs.), flare nuts (b) to 16 Nm (11.5 ft. lbs.) and bleeder screw (c) to 12 Nm (9.0 ft. lbs.).

3. Upon completion of installation, fill reservoir tank with specified fluid and bleed air from brake system.
4. After bleeding air, check that LSPV is installed properly.

NOTE: Make sure to bleed air from LSPV bleeder.
