IAC duty cycle cannot be adjusted.
CAUSE:
Programming error in cartridge.
CORRECTION:
Please use the adjustment procedures as listed in this bulletin.
This bulletin is to inform you of the change in duty cycle adjustment procedure for the Suzuki Mass Storage Cartridge (p/n 09932-66210-33E).
Due to an error in the Suzuki Mass Storage Cartridge programming, the Idle Speed/Idle Air Control (IAC) Duty Adjustment as listed on p. 6E1-37 in the 1996 Suzuki Sidekick Supplement 1-800 Service Manual (p/n 99501-61A20-33E) cannot be used to properly adjust the duty cycle. Please use the IAC duty cycle adjustment procedures as listed in this bulletin.
In the future, Suzuki will provide a software update for the mass storage cartridge to fix this problem.
Duty Cycle Adjustment Procedure
1998 Sidekick Sport
1) Locate the white monitor coupler as shown in the diagram.
2) Using a jumper wire, connect terminals B to D.
3) Connect one lead of the duty cycle meter to terminal F and the other lead to ground.
4) Adjust duty cycle as needed.
1996-1997 Sidekick Sport -
1) Perform the procedures listed for the 1998 Sport, or
2) Use the Suzuki OBD II Cartridge (p/n 09932-65010-001) and adjust the duty cycle according to the procedures listed in your Tech-1 manual.
