Vehicle & ECM/PCM Identification

VEHICLE & ECM/PCM IDENTIFICATION

1. Verify VIN is within range.





2. Lift vehicle engine compartment hood and check the Radiator Core Support area above the Right Front (Passenger side) Headlight for a YELLOW DOT sticker.

2a. NO YELLOW DOT; Proceed

2b. If there is a yellow dot STOP. The vehicle has the reprogrammed ECM/PCM.





3. Remove ECM/PCM push pin dust cover clips.

4. Remove ECM/PCM dust cover.

NOTE:
DO NOT disconnect or remove ECM/PCM at this time.

5. Verify the part number on the ECM/PCM. If the part number on the ECM/PCM housing is:

# 33920-65D20, # 33920-65D30, # 33920-65D40, # 33920-65D50





AND the ECM/PCM housing DOES NOT have BOTH a YELLOW AND GREEN DOT on it, as shown in the example picture, replace ECM/PCM; Go to "REMOVAL PROCEDURES".
