CONDITION:
Some customers may comment that one or both of the front door windows tips forward when closing.
CAUSE:
The weather-strip run channel bracket inside the door may be pinching the run channel weather-strip binding the glass as it slides in the channel.
CORRECTION:
Relieve the front door window glass run channel weather-strip(s) as shown in this bulletin.
The picture shows the area on the weather-strip run channel bracket that is pinching the glass run channel weatherstrip.
REPAIR PROCEDURES
1. Roll down the window to the full down position.
2. Carefully remove the door panel and plastic water splash shield.
3. Partially remove the front part of the run channel weather-strip from the run channel bracket up to about the front bend in the door window frame.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the weather-strip completely.
4. Locate the marker near the molded bend in the run channel weather-strip as shown in the picture.
5. From the marker, measure down 185 mm. (7-1/4 in.) and mark the weatherstrip.
6. From the 185 mm. (7-1/4 in.) mark, measure an additional 40 mm. (1-1/2 in.) and mark the weatherstrip.
7. With scissors, remove the outer lip portion of the weather-strip between the markers as shown below.
8. Using soap solution, reinstall the run channel weather-strip. Note that the cutout now goes around the pinched portion of the run channel bracket.
9. Install window switch and operated the window up and down to ensure proper operation.
10. Carefully reinstall the plastic water splash guard and door panel.
11. Reconfirm proper window operation.
