Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair




REMOVAL
1. Hoist vehicle.
2. Disconnect connector (3) from crankshaft position sensor (1).
3. Remove crankshaft position sensor (1) from oil pan (2).




INSTALLATION
1. Check to make sure that crankshaft position sensor (1) and pulley tooth (2) is free from any metal particles and damage.




2. Install crankshaft position sensor (1) to oil pan (2).

Tightening torque
CKP sensor bolt (for G16 engine) (a):
10 N.m (1.0 kg.m, 7.5 lb-ft)


CAUTION: Be sure to tighten to specified torque. CKP sensor will be deformed if overtightened and correct CKP sensor signal will not be fed if loosened.

3. Connect connector (3) to it securely.
