Bearing/Oil Seal
Removal1) Remove drive shaft assembly.
NOTE: For right side shaft bearing / oil seal removal, drain differential gear oil.
2) Remove left drive shaft (1) by using tire lever (2).
3) Remove left side strut.
4) Remove oil seal (1), using plain screwdriver.
5) Remove circlip (2).
6) Remove shaft bearing (1), using special tools ((A), (B)).
Installation
1) Clean drive shaft oil seal and then apply lithium grease.
2) Check oil seal for breakage or deterioration. Replace it as necessary.
3) Drive in drive shaft bearing (1) with special tool (A) (on left hand side).
4) Install circlip.
5) Drive in oil seal (1) with special tools ((B), (C)).
NOTE: As depth to which oil seal (1) should be driven into axle housing is different between the left and right, be sure to check stamped marks on special tool (B) and drive each oil seal (1) to corresponding mark.
6) Install left drive shaft.
7) Install left side strut.
8) Install drive shaft assembly.
9) Fill specified differential gear oil into differential case to specified level.
