OCM Removal and Installation

WARNING:
As Occupant Classification Module (OCM) consists of precision parts, be careful not to expose it to excessive shock.
Be sure to read Precautions on Service and Diagnosis of Air Bag System:H27 Engine Model (Advanced Air Bag) before starting to work and observe every precaution during work. Neglecting them may result in personal injury or inactivation of the air bag system when necessary.


NOTE: When OCM is replaced with a new one and the ignition switch is turn on, the "AIR BAG" warning lamp keeps on flashing. At this time, be sure to perform rezeroing of the passenger seat occupant classification system referring to Occupant Classification System Rezeroing:H27 Engine Model (Advanced Air Bag).

Removal
1. Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2. Disable air bag system referring to Disabling Air Bag System:H27 Engine Model (Advanced Air Bag).
3. Disconnect seat harness.
4. Remove passenger seat referring to Front Seat Removal and Installation for H27 Engine Model.
5. Remove passenger seat undercover.
6. Disconnect OCM connector (1) from OCM (2).




7. Using flat end rod or the like (3), remove OCM (2) from passenger seat.

Installation

Reference: OCM Inspection:H27 Engine Model (Advanced Air Bag)

1. Install OCM to passenger seat.
2. Connect OCM connector to OCM securely.
3. Install passenger seat undercover to passenger seat assembly.
4. Install passenger seat and tighten four mounting bolts with specified torque referring to Front Seat Removal and Installation for H27 Engine Model.
5. Connect negative cable at battery.
6. Enable air bag system referring to Enabling Air Bag System:H27 Engine Model (Advanced Air Bag).
7. Perform air bag system check referring to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:H27 Engine Model (Advanced Air Bag). Diagnostic Strategies
8. Perform occupant classification system rezeroing referring to Occupant Classification System Rezeroing:H27 Engine Model (Advanced Air Bag).
