Front Seat Removal and InstallationReference: Front Seat Components
WARNING:
- Be sure to read Precautions on Service and Diagnosis of Air Bag System, before starting to work and observe every precaution during work. Neglecting them may result in personal injury or inoperative of the passenger side air bag (inflator) module if necessary.
- Never attempt to disassemble or repair the passenger side seat adjuster including weight sensor. If abnormality is found, be sure to replace it with new one as an assembly.
Removal
1. Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2. Disable air bag system referring to Disabling Air Bag System.
3. Disconnect seat harness and seat heater harness (if equipped).
4. Remove four mounting bolts fixing front seat rail to remove front seat.
5. Disassemble and repair seat as necessary.
Installation
1. Install front seat assembly and tighten four mounting bolts with specified torque.
NOTE: Be sure not to enter foreign substance to mating surfaces of seat adjuster and vehicle body.
Tightening torque
Front seat mounting bolt: 35 N.m (3.5 kg-m, 25.5 lb-ft)
2. Connect seat harness and seat heater harness (if equipped).
3. Connect negative cable to battery.
4. Enable air bag system referring to Enabling Air Bag System.
5. For passenger seat installation, perform following procedure.
a. Perform air bag system check referring to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check. Diagnostic Strategies
b. Perform occupant classification system rezeroing referring to Occupant Classification System Rezeroing.
c. If passenger seat is disassembled, perform occupant classification system sensitivity check referring to Occupant Classification System Sensitivity Check. Testing and Inspection
