NOTE:
- Unless otherwise obligated by local regulations, adjust headlight aiming according to the following procedure.
- After replacing headlight housing, be sure to adjust aiming.

1. Make sure the following items.
- Place vehicle on a flat surface in front of blank wall (screen) (1) ahead of headlight surface.

Distance "a"
10 m (32.8 ft.)

- Adjust air pressure of all tires to the specified value respectively.
- Bounce vehicle body up and down by hand to stabilize suspension.
- Carry out aiming with a driver aboard.

Driver's weight
68 kg (150 lb)

2. Check that hot spot is proper position as follows.

VOL type [C]:
Check to see if hot spot (high intensity zone) of each low beam axis falls as shown in figure.

NOTE: If the headlights interfere each other and make it hard to see the cutoff line clearly, cover the headlight on one side. This helps to make aiming adjustment easier.

Hot spot specification (VOL type)
Angle "b": 0.4° (Specification)
Calculated distance "H": Approx. 70 mm (2.75 in.)

If vertical aiming is not set properly, align it to specification by adjusting aiming gear. If horizontal aiming is out of specification, check headlight installation or vehicle body panel bending.

VOR type [D]:
Check that the upper cutoff line is aligned with the horizontal center line (X - X).

NOTE: If the headlights interfere each other and make it hard to see the cutoff line clearly, cover the headlight on one side. This helps to make aiming adjustment easier.

If vertical aiming is not set properly, align it to specified position by adjusting aiming gear. At this time, upper cutoff line should be on the "V" point.

Hot spot specification (VOR type)
Upper line aligned with X - X line (Vertical)
Distance "G": Approx. 350 mm (13.78 in.) (specified angle: 2°) (Horizontal)

If upper cutoff line is off from the "V" point to the right or left (aiming is deviated to the left or right), check headlight installation or vehicle body panel bending.
