OBD System Description - Comprehensive Component Rationality Monitor

Monitoring Procedure
Input signal of transmission range sensor (P0707), transmission range sensor (P0705), transmission fluid temperature sensor (P0711), input shaft speed sensor (P0717), output shaft speed sensor (P0722), TCC lock-up solenoid valve (P0741, P0742), shift solenoid valve (P0751, P0752, P0756, P0757), TCM (P1702), 4L/N switch (P1874, P1875) CAN communication (U0073, U0100) are checked for circuit rationality by monitoring each sensor and vehicle condition.

TCC Solenoid Valve Rationality Monitor

Monitoring Procedure
TCM monitors operation (engagement condition) of TCC in response to ON/OFF command to the TCC solenoid using input and output speed sensor signals.

Shift Solenoid Valve "A" Rationality Monitor

Monitoring Procedure
TCM calculates the actual transmission gear ratio from input and output speed sensor signals and monitor it.

TCM detects a trouble when the actual transmission gear ratio is not equal to the ratio of each gear as commanded by TCM.
