Tire Monitoring System: Service Precautions

Precautions in Diagnosing Troubles

- When driving under any of the following conditions, BCM may cause the low tire pressure warning light to light up or flash even though the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is operating properly.
- Tire chains are fitted to tires.
- A large amount of snow, ice or mud is attached to the wheels or wheel houses.
- Wheels mounted on the vehicle are not genuine type or tires are of other than specified size.
- Tire pressure sensor ID codes for all four tires except the spare tire are not registered in BCM, or a wheel with tire having a tire pressure sensor without its ID registered in BCM is used as a running wheel.
- The vehicle is driven near a facility which emits a strong radio wave.
- The vehicle is driven using a tire repaired with liquid sealants for puncture repair.

- Diagnostic information stored in BCM memory can be cleared as well as checked by using SUZUKI scan tool. Before using SUZUKI scan tool, read its Operator's (Instruction) Manual carefully to have good understanding as to what functions are available and how to use it.
- Be sure to read Precaution for CAN Communication System before inspection and observe what is written there.
