Differential Lock Indicator Lamp Inoperative
DIFF LOCK Indicator Lamp Inoperative
SYMPTOM:
DIFF LOCK indicator lamp does not turn ON for approx. 1 second when turning ignition switch to "ON".
Diagnostic Procedure
1. PERFORM DIFFERENTIAL LOCK CONTROL UNIT DTC CHECK
Perform "DTC check". Refer to [SDT Function (Diff Lock)] Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
Were any DTC's displayed?
YES
Refer to [DTC Index: Differential Lock Control Unit] DTC Index Differential Lock Control Unit.
NO
GO TO 2.
2. CHECK DIFFERENTIAL LOCK CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Check the differential lock control unit for proper power and ground. Refer to [P1833 Initial Start] P1833.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 3.
NO
Repair harness or connector.
3. CHECK DIFF LOCK INDICATOR LAMP POWER SUPPLY
Check power supply to the combination meter (DIFF LOCK indicator lamp). Refer to [Power Supply and Ground Circuit Check [Combination Meter] Component Tests and General Diagnostics ].
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 4.
NO
Repair harness or connectors.
4. CHECK DIFF LOCK INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL
Check the DIFF LOCK indicator lamp control circuit. Refer to [DIFF LOCK Indicator Lamp Circuit Check] Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Replace the differential lock control unit. Refer to [Differential Lock Control Unit: Removal and Installation] Service and Repair.
NO
Repair malfunctioning component.
