DTC B1015: "PASS AIR BAG OFF" Indicator Light Circuit Failure

DTC Will be Set When
The voltage at the "PASS AIR BAG OFF" indicator light circuit terminal "G46-10" does not match the commanded state of the warning light driver for specified time.
Flow Test Description
Step 2: Check for "METER" fuse blown.
Step 3: Check for "PASS AIR BAG OFF" indicator light circuit.
Step 4: Check for "PASS AIR BAG OFF" indicator light circuit.
Step 5: Check if malfunction is in center panel indicator included in HVAC control module.
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.
2. Turn ignition switch OFF.
Remove and inspect "METER" fuse.
Is fuse good?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
"PPL/RED" wire short to ground. After repair, replace "METER" fuse.
3. Disconnect SDM connector "G46" and center console indicator connector "G61".
Check proper connection to SDM at terminal "G46-10" and center console indicator connector "G61-4".
Check "PASS AIR BAG OFF" indicator light circuit between "G46-10" and "G61-4" for open, short and high resistance.
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
Repair "BLK/BLU" circuit.
4. Check proper connection at "G03-11" terminal and center console indicator connector "G61-1".
Check "PASS AIR BAG OFF" indicator light circuit between "G61-1" and "G03-11" for open, short and high resistance.
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 5.
NO -
Repair "PPL/RED" circuit.
5. Check center panel indicator included in HVAC control module.
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
Replace center panel indicator included in HVAC control module referring to HVAC Control Module Removal and Installation HVAC Control Module Removal and Installation. If DTC still exists, substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs, if any. DTC Clearance
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
