B1045
DTC B1045: Passenger Air Bag (2nd Stage) Circuit Resistance High
Wiring Diagram
DTC Will be Set when
The combined resistance of the passenger air bag (inflator) module (2nd stage), harness wiring and connector terminal contact is above a specified value for specified time.
Flow Test Description
Step 2: Check if malfunction is in passenger air bag (inflator) module (2nd stage).
Step 3: Check passenger air bag (inflator) module (2nd stage) initiator circuit. (Between "Q01" and "Q03")
Step 4: Check passenger air bag (inflator) module (2nd stage) initiator circuit. (Between "G67" and "G46")
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.
2. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect passenger air bag (inflator) module connectors.
Check proper connection to passenger air bag (inflator) module at terminals in "Q03" connector (connector color is black).
If OK, then connect special tools (A), (B) and (D) to "Q03" connector (connector color is black).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
(B): 09932-75010
(D): 09932-78310
Check SDM DTC.
With ignition switch ON, is DTC B1045 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Turn ignition switch OFF. Replace passenger air bag (inflator) module referring to Removal and Installation Passenger Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal and Installation:Advanced Air Bag.
3. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect "G67" connector located near the glove box.
Check proper connection to instrument panel harness connector at terminal "G67-3" and "G67-4".
If OK, then connect special tools (B) and (C) to "G67" connector disconnected in Step 1).
Special Tool
(B): 09932-75010
(C): 09932-77320
Check SDM DTC.
NOTE:
At this time, DTC B1041 may be output, but it is not related to this check.
With ignition switch ON, is DTC B1045 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
High resistance or open wire "ORN/BLU" or "ORN/GRN" circuit. (Between "Q01" and "Q03" connectors)
4. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect SDM connector "G46".
Check proper connection to SDM at terminals "G46-13" and "G46-14".
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Measure resistance between "G46-13" and "G46-14" terminals with connected special tools (B) and (C).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
(B): 09932-75010
(C): 09932-77320
Is resistance 5.5 ohms or less?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
High resistance or open wire in "ORN/BLU" or "ORN/GRN" circuit. (Between "G67" and "G46" connectors).
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs, if any. DTC Clearance
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
