Wiring Diagram

Refer to B1061 DTC B1061 / B1065: Driver / Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Resistance High:Advanced Air Bag.

DTC Will be Set when

The combined resistance of the side-air bag (inflator) module (driver or passenger), harness wiring and connector terminal contact is below a specified value for specified time.

Flow Test Description

Step 2: Check whether malfunction is in side-air bag (inflator) module.

Step 3: Check side-air bag initiator circuit in floor harness.

Step 4: Check side-air bag initiator circuit in seat harness.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.

2. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect side-air bag (inflator) module connector under front seat cushion.
Check proper connection to driver or passenger side-air bag (inflator) module at terminals in "L25" or "L30" connector.
If OK, then connect special tools (B) and (C) to side-air bag (inflator) module connector disconnected at the Step 1.

Check SDM DTC.

With ignition switch ON, is DTC B1062 or B1066 still indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Go to Step 4.

3. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect SDM connector "L33".
Check proper connection to SDM at terminals "L33-1" and "L33-2" or "L33-3" and "L33-4".
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Measure resistance between "L33-1" and "L33-2" terminals (for DTC B1062) or "L33-3" and "L33-4" terminals (for DTC B1066) with connected special tools (B) and (C).

Is resistance 0.65 ohms or more?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
DTC B1062: Repair short from "GRY/RED" wire circuit to "GRY" wire circuit or from "GRY/RED" or "GRY" wire circuit to other wire circuit in floor harness.
DTC B1066: Repair short from "BRN/WHT" wire circuit to "BRN" wire circuit or from "BRN/WHT" or "BRN" wire circuit to other wire circuit in floor harness.

4. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect special tools (B) and (C) then reconnect connector "L25" or "L30".
Disconnect side-air bag (inflator) module connector "Q06" or "Q07" from side-air bag (inflator) module.
Check proper connection to side-air bag (inflator) module at terminal in connector.
If OK, then connect special tools (A), (B) and (C) to side-air bag (inflator) connector.
