DTC B1083 / B1093: Driver / Passenger Side-Sensor Circuit Short to Ground
Wiring Diagram
DTC Will be Set when
The voltage measured at driver / passenger side-sensor circuit is below a specified value for specified time.
Flow Test Description
Step 2: Check for short circuit between side-sensor circuit and ground.
Step 3: Check for short circuit between side-sensor circuit and ground circuit.
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.
2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Disconnect side-sensor connector "L11" or "L35".
Disconnect SDM connector "L33".
Measure resistance between "L33-13" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1083) or "L33-16" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1093).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
For DTC B1083: "WHT/RED" circuit shorted to ground.
For DTC B1093: "WHT/GRN" circuit shorted to ground.
3. Measure resistance between terminals "L33-13" and "L33-14" (for DTC B1073) or "L33-15" and "L33-16" (for DTC B1093).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES -
Replace defective side-sensor and recheck. If this DTC is still detected, replace SDM.
NO -
For DTC B1083: "WHT/RED" circuit shorted to "LT GRN/BLK" circuit.
For DTC B1093: "WHT/GRN" circuit shorted to "LT GRN" circuit.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs, if any. DTC Clearance
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
