Wiring Diagram

Refer to
B1083 DTC B1083 / B1093: Driver / Passenger Side-Sensor Circuit Short to Ground:Advanced Air Bag.

DTC Will be Set when

The voltage measured at driver / passenger side-sensor circuit is above a specified value for specified time.

Flow Test Description

Step 2: Check for open circuit in side-sensor circuit.

Step 3: Check for short circuit between side-sensor circuit and power supply circuit.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Disconnect side-sensor connector "L11" or "L35".
Disconnect SDM connector "L33".
Check proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L33-13" and "L33-14" (for DTC B1084), or terminals "L33-15" and "L33-16" (for DTC B1094).
Check proper connection to side-sensor connector at terminals "L11-1" and "L11-2" or "L35-1" and "L35-2".
Using service wire (1), connect "L11-1" and "L11-2" terminal (for DTC B1084) or "L35-1" and "L35-2" terminal (for DTC B1094) of side-sensor connector.
Measure resistance between "L33-13 and "L33-14" (for DTC B1084) or "L33-15" and "L33-16" (for DTC B1094).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010

Is each measured resistance 1ohms or less?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
For DTC B1084: High resistance or open wire in "WHT/RED" circuit or "LT GRN/BLK" circuit.
For DTC B1094: High resistance or open wire in "WHT/GRN" circuit or "LT GRN" circuit.

3. Disconnect service wire from "L11" or "L35" connector.
Measure voltage between "L33-13" and body ground, "L33-14" and body ground (for DTC B1084) or "L33-15" and body ground, "L33-16" and body ground (for DTC B1094).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010

With ignition switch ON, is each measured value 1 V or less?
YES -
Replace defective side-sensor and recheck. If this DTC is still detected, replace SDM.
NO -
For DTC B1084: "WHT/RED" circuit or "LT GRN/BLK" circuit shorted to power circuit.
For DTC B1094: "WHT/GRN" circuit or "LT GRN" circuit shorted to power circuit.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs, if any. DTC Clearance
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
