DTC B1321 / B1325: Left / Right Side-Air Bag Initiator Circuit Resistance High

Wiring Diagram

DTC Will be Set when

The combined resistance of the side-air bag (inflator) module (left or right), harness wiring and connector terminal contact is above a specified value for specified time.

Flow Test Description

Step 2: Check whether malfunction is in side-air bag (inflator) module.

Step 3: Check side-air bag initiator circuit in floor harness.

Step 4: Check side-air bag initiator circuit in seat harness.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Except Advanced Air Bag.

2. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect side-air bag (inflator) module connector under front seat cushion.
Check proper connection to left or right side-air bag (inflator) module at terminals in "L25" or "L30" connector.
If OK, then connect special tools (B) and (C) to side-air bag (inflator) module connector disconnected at the Step 1).

Check SDM DTC.

With ignition switch ON, is DTC B1321 or B1325 still indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Go to Step 4.

3. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect SDM connector "L33".
Check proper connection to SDM at terminals "L33-1" and "L33-2" or "L33-3" and "L33-4".
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Measure resistance between "L33-1" and "L33-2" terminals (for DTC B1321) or "L33-3" and "L33-4" terminals (for DTC B1325) with connected special tool (B) and (C).

Is resistance 5.5 ohms or less?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
DTC B1321: Repair high resistance or open in "GRY/RED" or "GRY" wire circuit in floor harness.
DTC B1325: Repair high resistance or open in "BRN/WHT" or "BRN" wire circuit in floor harness.

4. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect special tools (B) and (C) then reconnect connector "L25" or "L30".
Disconnect side-air bag (inflator) module connector "Q07" or "Q05" from side-air bag (inflator) module.
Check proper connection to side-air bag (inflator) module at terminal in connector.
If OK, then connect special tools (A), (B) and (C) to side-air bag (inflator) connector.
