DTC B1381 / B1384: Driver / Passenger Seat Belt Buckle Sensor Circuit Resistance High

DTC Will be Set When
The resistance of seat belt buckle sensor circuit is above specified value for specified time.
Flow Test Description
Step 2: Check for open circuit in seat belt buckle sensor circuit.
Step 3: Check if malfunction is in seat belt buckle sensor.
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.
2. Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect SDM connector "L33" and seat belt buckle sensor connector "L58" or "L60".
Check proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L33-9" and "L33-10" (for DTC B1381), or terminals "L33-11" and "L33-12" (for DTC B1384).
Check proper connection to seat belt buckle sensor connector at terminals "L58-1" and "L58-2" or "L60-1" and "L60-2".
Using service wire (1), connect "L58-1" and "L58-2" terminal (for DTC B1381) or "L60-1" and "L60-2" terminal (for DTC B1384) of seat belt buckle sensor connector.
Measure resistance between terminals "L33-9" and "L33-10" (for DTC B1381), or between terminals "L33-11" and "L33-12" (for DTC B1384).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Is each measured resistance 1 ohms or less?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
For DTC B1381: High resistance or open wire in "RED/BLU" circuit or "RED/BLK" circuit.
For DTC B1384: High resistance or open wire in "WHT/BLU" circuit or "WHT/BLK" circuit.
3. Check seat belt buckle sensor. Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
Replace seat belt buckle sensor referring to Removal and Installation Front Seat Belt Removal and Installation. If DTC still exists, substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
- Reconnect all air bag system components, ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs, if any. DTC Clearance
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
