DTC B1382 / B1385: Driver / Passenger Seat Belt Buckle Sensor Circuit Short to Power Circuit

Wiring Diagram

Refer to B1381 DTC B1381 / B1384: Driver / Passenger Seat Belt Buckle Sensor Circuit Resistance High:Advanced Air Bag.

DTC Will be Set When

The voltage of seat belt buckle sensor circuit is above specified value for specified time.

Flow Test Description

Step 2: Check for short circuit between seat belt buckle sensor circuit and power supply circuit.

Step 3: Check if malfunction is in seat belt buckle sensor.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect SDM connector "L33" and seat belt buckle sensor connector "L58" or "L60".
Check proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L33-9" and "L33-10" (for DTC B1382), or terminals "L33-11" and "L33-12" (for DTC B1385).
Check proper connection to seat belt buckle sensor connector at terminals "L58-1" and "L58-2" or "L60-1" and "L60-2".
If OK, then measure voltage from "L33-9" terminal to body ground and "L33-10" terminal to body ground (for DTC B1382), or from "L33-11" terminal to body ground and "L33-12" terminal to body ground (for DTC B1385).

With ignition switch ON, is each measured value 1 V or less?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
For DTC B1382: "RED/BLU" circuit or "RED/BLK" circuit shorted to power supply circuit.
For DTC B1385: "WHT/BLU" circuit or "WHT/BLK" circuit shorted to power supply circuit.

3. Check seat belt buckle sensor. Inspection

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
Replace seat belt buckle sensor referring to Removal and Installation Front Seat Belt Removal and Installation. If DTC still exists, substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components, ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs, if any. DTC Clearance
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
