Wiring Diagram
DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
DTC Confirmation Procedure
1) Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Clear DTCs in TCM and ECM memories by using scan tool.
3) Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4) Shift select lever to "D" range.
5) Start vehicle and increase vehicle speed to 50 km/h (31 mile/h) or more with throttle position 10% for 30 minutes.
6) Stop vehicle and turn ignition switch OFF.
7) Repeat Step 3) to 5) one time.
8) Stop vehicle.
9) Check DTC, pending DTC and freeze-frame data.
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "A/T System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to A/T System Check A/T System Check.
2. Check transmission fluid temperature sensor
Check transmission fluid temperature sensor referring to Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Inspection Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Inspection.
Is check result satisfactory?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Replace solenoid wire harness including transmission fluid temperature sensor referring to Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Removal and Installation Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Removal and Installation.
3. Check of lapsed time from engine start to DTC detection
Check "Time Since Engine Start" in freeze-frame data to see whether the time having elapsed after start of engine is shorter than 10 minutes.
Is the time shorter than 10 minutes?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
Intermittent trouble or faulty TCM. Check for intermittent trouble referring to Intermittent and Poor Connection Inspection Intermittent and Poor Connection Inspection. If OK, substitute a known-good TCM and recheck
4. ECT sensor check
Check ECT sensor. ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) Sensor Inspection
Is check result satisfactory?
YES -
Replace ECM with a known-good one and recheck. ECM (Engine Control Module) Removal and Installation
NO -
Replace ECT sensor with a known-good one. ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) Sensor Removal and Installation
