DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

DTC Confirmation Procedure

1) Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Clear DTCs in TCM and ECM memories by using scan tool.
3) Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4) Keep engine running at idle speed for 30 seconds or more.
5) Check DTC, pending DTC and freeze-frame data.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "A/T System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to A/T System Check A/T System Check.

2. Check for pressure control solenoid valve circuit

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect TCM connectors from TCM.
Disconnect solenoid connector and TCM connectors.
Check TCM and TCM connector(s) for proper connection at related terminal.
If OK, check resistance for pressure control solenoid valve circuit.

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair "YEL/RED" and/or "BRN/RED" circuit.

3. Check pressure control solenoid valve resistance

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect solenoid connector on A/T.
Check solenoid connector for proper connection at related terminals.
Check resistance of pressure control solenoid valve circuit referring to Solenoid Valves (Shift Solenoid-A, Shift Solenoid-B, TCC Pressure Control Solenoid and Pressure Control Solenoid) Inspection Solenoid Valves (Shift Solenoid-A, Shift Solenoid-B, TCC Pressure Control Solenoid and Pressure Control Solenoid) Inspection.

Is check results satisfactory?
YES -
Intermittent trouble or faulty TCM. Check for intermittent trouble referring to Intermittent and Poor Connection Inspection Intermittent and Poor Connection Inspection. If OK, substitute a known-good TCM and recheck.
NO -
Replace pressure control solenoid valve or solenoid connector.
