DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

Refer to P0122 DTC P0122 / P0123.

DTC Confirmation Procedure

1) Turn ignition switch to ON position.
2) Keep accelerator pedal at fully depressed position for 2 sec.
3) Keep accelerator pedal at idle position for 2 sec.
4) Repeat Step 2) through 3) for 3 times.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check Engine and Emission Control System Check.

2. DTC check

Check DTC.

Is there DTC(s) other than P2138?
YES -
Go to applicable DTC(s).
NO -
Go to Step 3.

3. Wire harness check

Check APP sensor (main and sub) circuit as follows.
- APP sensor (main) circuit: Refer to Step 3 through 6 of P2122 DTC P2122 / P2123.
- APP sensor (sub) circuit: Refer to Step 3 through 6 of P2127 DTC P2127 / P2128.

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to step 4.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.

4. APP sensor check

Check APP sensor. APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) Sensor Inspection

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
NO -
Replace accelerator pedal assembly (with APP sensor).
