Suspension Control Arm Removal and Installation
Removal
1) Hoist vehicle and remove wheel.
2) Uncaulk drive shaft nut (1).
3) Depress foot brake pedal and hold it. Remove drive shaft nut (1).
4) Disconnect tie-rod end from steering knuckle. Service and Repair.
5) For headlight auto leveling model, remove front height sensor. Height Sensor Removal and Installation (If Equipped)
6) Loosen ball joint nut (1).
7) Remove suspension control arm bolts (1).
8) Disconnect drive shaft (1) from steering knuckle (2).
9) Remove steering knuckle (2) from control arm (3) using puller (4) and then remove control arm (3).
Installation

Suspension Control Arm Joint Check
1) Install suspension control arm, and then install suspension control arm bolts (1) and tighten new suspension control arm nuts (2) temporarily by hand.
NOTE:
The front suspension frame mounting bolts are pre-coated with friction stabilizer. If these bolts are reused, they may work loose.
Be sure to replace the front suspension frame mounting bolts with new ones whenever they are removed.
2) For headlight auto leveling model, install front height sensor. Height Sensor Removal and Installation (If Equipped)
3) Connect suspension control arm (1) to steering knuckle and then tighten new suspension control arm ball joint nut (2) to specified torque.
NOTE:
If suspension control arm ball joint nut are reused, they may work loose.
Be sure to replace the suspension control arm ball joint nut with new ones whenever they are removed.
Tightening torque
Suspension control arm ball joint nut (a): 55 Nm (5.5 kgf-m, 40.0 lbf-ft)
4) Connect tie-rod end to steering knuckle. Service and Repair
5) Depress foot brake pedal and hold it there. Tighten new drive shaft nut (1) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Drive shaft nut (a): 220 Nm (22.0 kgf-m, 159.5 lbf-ft)
NOTE:
Once you remove the drive shaft nut (1), it will no longer have the necessary fastening performance.
Never reuse the drive shaft nut.
6) Caulk drive shaft nut (1) as shown.
7) Install wheel and lower vehicle.
8) Tighten wheel nuts to specified torque. Removal and Replacement
9) Tighten suspension control arm nuts to specified torque with vehicle weight on suspension.
NOTE:
It is the most desirable to have vehicle off hoist and in non-loaded condition when tightening them.
Tightening torque
Suspension control arm nut 128 Nm (13.1 kgf-m, 94.5 lbf-ft)
10) For headlight auto leveling model, after installation, initialize headlight auto leveling system. Programming and Relearning
