Wiring Diagram
DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Electronic Stability Program Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to (ESP) Check Electronic Stability Program Check.
2. Check brake fluid level
Check brake fluid level in reservoir.
Is brake fluid level upper than the minimum level?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Replenish brake fluid to reservoir.
3. DTC check for ESP(R)
Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch turned OFF.
Turn ignition switch ON and check DTC for ESP(R).
Is DTC U0073 and/or U0140 detected?
YES -
Go to applicable DTC diag. flow.
NO -
Go to Step 3.
4. Check brake fluid level switch
Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Disconnect brake fluid level switch connector.
Check for proper connection at each terminal of brake fluid level switch connector.
If OK, then check brake fluid level switch. Component Tests and General Diagnostics
Is check result OK?
YES -
Go to Step 5.
NO -
Replace brake fluid level switch.
5. Check brake fluid level switch circuit
Disconnect BCM connector.
Check for proper connection to BCM connector at "G31-7" terminal.
If OK, then check resistance between "G31-7" terminal and vehicle body ground.
Is resistance infinity?
YES -
Go to Step 6.
NO -
"RED/BLK" wire circuit is shorted to ground.
6. Check BCM
Connect brake fluid level switch connector and BCM connector.
Check voltage at "G31-7" terminal of BCM. Inspection of BCM and Its Circuits
Is voltage in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good ESP(R) hydraulic unit / control module assembly and recheck.
NO -
Check BCM power and ground circuit. If circuit is OK, substitute a known-good BCM and recheck.
