DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Electronic Stability Program Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2
NO -
Go to (ESP) Check Electronic Stability Program Check.

2. Check steering angle sensor power supply circuit

Check circuit fuses for steering angle sensor and its circuit.

Is it good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Replace fuse and check for short circuit to ground.

3. Check steering angle sensor power supply circuit

Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Disconnect steering angle sensor connector.
Check for proper connection to steering angle sensor connector terminals at "G45-1", "G45-2" and "G45-3".
If OK, then measure voltage between connector terminal "G45-3" and vehicle body ground.

Is it 10 - 14 V?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
"WHT" wire circuit open.

4. Check steering angle sensor power supply circuit

Measure voltage between connector terminal "G45-1" and vehicle body ground with ignition switch turned ON.

Is it 10 - 14 V?
YES -
Go to Step 5.
NO -
"GRN/ORN" wire circuit open.

5. Check steering angle sensor ground circuit

Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Measure resistance between connector terminal "G45-2" and vehicle body ground.

Is resistance less than 2 ohms?
YES -
Go to Step 6.
NO -
"BLK" wire circuit open or high resistance.

6. Check steering angle sensor

Connect steering angle sensor connector.
Check steering angle sensor. Testing and Inspection

Is it good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good ESP(R) hydraulic unit / control module assembly and recheck.
NO -
Replace steering angle sensor.
