Infotainment System - Software Update
GRAND VITARATechnical Bulletin
Section Title: Body, Cab and Accessories
TSB No. TS 38 11202
Division: Automotive
Category: Technical
SUBJECT:
SUZUKI INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATE.
MODEL(S):
GRAND VITARA (JB424)
YEAR:
2013
CONDITION:
The Suzuki Infotainment System will reboot (shut OFF then turn
itself back ON) when certain display information received exceeds
the radios capacity for the information to be displayed.
CAUSE:
Radio stations transmit Radio Data System (RDS) data to be
displayed on the radios display screen. Within that data is
Program Type information (Religious Talk, Adult Contemporary,
etc.). When a user selects a language setting on the radio, the
Program Type text is translated to the language selected by the
user. Under certain conditions, software versions prior to 2.10 can
not accept the length of the translated text and may cause a
reboot.
CORRECTION:
DO NOT replace the radio tuner assembly! Please reprogram the
Suzuki Infotainment System with updated software that has been
improved to correct the displays programming. The software
update for reprogramming must be version 2.10 or later to correct
this condition.
