Fuel Delivery and Air Induction: Description and Operation
The multi-point fuel injection system supplies the combustion chambers with air/fuel mixture of optimized ratio under widely varying driving conditions. This system has three major sub-systems:1. Air intake system--This sub-system consists of the air cleaner, air flow meter, throttle body, air valve, ISC solenoid valve and intake manifold.
2. Fuel delivery system--This sub-system consists of the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, delivery pipe and fuel injectors.
3. Electronic control system--This sub-system consists of various sensors which detect the state of engine driving conditions, ECM which controls various devices according to signals from the sensors and various controlled devices.
