Service Procedure

The following procedure will take approximately .3 hours, including any adjustments.





1. Raise hood and support with Hood Prop. Rod.





2. Position the nut in the special nut holder tool (p/n 99963-00021) so it is held by the rubber nut holder.





3. Insert the nut holder tool with the nut into the striker opening of the striker bracket.








4. Position the nut in the nut holder over the forward most hole in the striker bracket.





5. Install bolt with washer into the nut while still holding nut with the nut holding tool.





6. Torque bolt to specifications and remove nut holder.


Torque Specification 6 - 8.5 lb.ft. (8 - 12 N-m)

7. Repeat steps 2 through 6 for the other striker hole.
