Cruise Control: Description and Operation

This cruise control system is a device which maintains a preset vehicle speed during high speed vehicle operation. The system will maintain any desired constant speed between 25 and 75 mph without depressing the accelerator pedal.
Other cruise control system functions include: using accelerator pedal, after cruise control is cancelled.

The main components of the cruise control system are vehicle speed sensor, control unit, actuator, SET COAST switch, ACCEL RESUME switch, and CANCEL switch, Figs. 1 through 3.
