Temperature Sensor (Gauge): Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect Yellow/White lead wire going to gauge unit installed on intake manifold, Fig. 2.

2. Using a 12 volt (3.4 W) bulb, ground wire as shown, Fig. 3.
3. Turn ignition On. Ensure bulb is lighted with meter pointer wavering several seconds after.
4. If meter is faulty, replace as necessary.

5. After warming up gauge unit, ensure resistance decreases with the increase of temperature as shown, Fig. 5.
