NOTE: Wheel bearing and wheel hub form a solid unit. When wheel bearing is found defective and its replacement is necessary, replace hub assembly.

REMOVAL
1. Hoist vehicle and remove brake drum.





2. Remove spindle cap as shown (by hammering lightly at 3 locations around it so as not to deform or cause damage to seating part of cap).





3. Unstake spindle nut and remove spindle nut and washer.





4. Pull wheel hub off by using special tools.
Special Tool
(A): 09943-17912
(B): 09942-15510 or equivalents.








5. Remove hub bolts.

INSTALLATION





1. Install hub bolts. Insert new stud in hub hole. Rotate stud slowly to assure serrations are aligned with those made by original bolt.
2. For ABS equipped vehicle, check ABS wheel speed sensor rotor for damage.
3. Install wheel hub assembly, washer and new spindle nut.





4. Tighten spindle nut to specified torque.

NOTE: Removed spindle nut should be replaced with new one.

Tightening Torque (a): 175 Nm (127 ft. lbs.)





5. Stake spindle nut securely.
6. Install spindle cap to wheel hub.

NOTE:
^ When installing spindle cap, hammer lightly several locations on the collar of cap until collar comes closely into contact with wheel hub.
^ If fitting part of cap is deformed or damaged or if it is fitted loosely, replace with new one.

7. Install brake drum and wheel.
8. Perform brake test.
