Wheel Hub: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Hoist vehicle and remove wheel.
2. Stake drive shaft nut.
3. Depress foot brake pedal and hold it there. Remove drive shaft nut.
4. Remove caliper carrier bolts.
5. Remove caliper with carrier.
6. Remove disc screws.
7. Pull brake disc off by using two 8 mm bolts.
8. Pull out wheel hub with special tools (A) and (B).
Special Tools:
(A): 09943-17911
(B): 09942-15510 or equivalents.
INSTALLATION
1. Install wheel hub to knuckle by tightening drive shaft nut. Don't tap wheel hub.
2. Install brake disc.
Tightening Torque (a): 4 - 7 Nm (3.0 - 5.0 ft. lbs.)
3. Install brake caliper/caliper carrier.
4. Tighten caliper carrier bolts to specified torque.
Tightening Torque (b): 40 - 60 Nm (29.0 - 43.0 ft. lbs.)
5. Depress foot brake pedal and hold it there.
Tighten new drive shaft nut and brake disc screws to specified torque.
Tightening Torque (c): 150 - 200 Nm (108.5 - 144.5 ft. lbs.)
6. Calk drive shaft nut as shown.
WARNING: Be careful while calking nut so that no crack will occur in calked part of nut. Cracked nut must be replaced with new one.
7. install wheel and lower hoist.
