POWER SLIDING ROOF (If equipped)WIRING CIRCUIT

OPERATION
TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS
INSPECTION
SLIDING ROOF SWITCH
Inspect switch continuity between terminals shown in figure.
If any of continuity is not obtained, replace sliding roof switch.
SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSY
Inspection of Motor
1) Disconnect sliding roof drive gear assy coupler.
2) Connect (+) battery lead to terminal a and (-) battery lead to terminal band check that the motor turns to the left (close/up direction).
3) Reverse polarity (connect (-) battery lead to terminal a and (+) battery lead to terminal b) and check that the motor turns to the right (open/down direction).
4) If motor does not operate as above 2) and 3) replace it.
Inspection for noise-protection ground
1) Check that the continuity exists between terminal c and the body of motor.
CIRCUIT BREAKER
NOTE: This inspection must be done with the complete sliding roof assembly installed on the vehicle.
1) Disconnect coupler from sliding roof drive gear assy.
2) Connect (-) Battery lead to terminal a, (+) battery lead to terminal b, then open sliding roof completely.
3) Disconnect (-) battery lead from terminal a.
4) Connect ammeter between terminal b and (+) battery lead.
5) Measure time that the current falling down around 16A - 23A to 0A when (-) battery lead connected terminal a again.
Standard measured time: 10-60 sec
If measured time is out of specification, replace sliding root drive gear assy.
6) When the current reaches 0A, disconnect both terminal a and b from battery lead.
7) 60 seconds after the disconnection of terminal a and b, connect (+) battery lead to terminal a, (-) battery lead to terminal b and check that the sliding roof operates to closing direction.
LIMIT SWITCH 1 AND LIMIT SWITCH 2
1) Remove limit switch from sliding roof drive gear assy and check continuity between terminal when limit switch is ON and OFF.
SLIDING ROOF CONTROL RELAY
1) Remove sliding roof drive gear assy.
2) Remove limit switch 1 and limit switch 2 from sliding roof drive gear assy.
3) Disconnect sliding roof drive gear assy coupler from sliding roof sub wire.
4) Pull out terminal a, b and c from sliding roof drive gear assy coupler. To pull terminals out, first unlock stopper upward, then pull out wires (terminals) gently while unlocking the terminal lock. Terminals a, b and c are the limit switch wires.
5) Connect sliding roof switch to sliding roof sub wire.
6) Connect limit switch wires to sliding roof sub wire connector where they should be connected.
7) Disconnect sliding roof sub wire from sliding roof control relay.
8) Check resistance and voltage at following condition.
If any of measured condition does not follow above standard values, the problem exists on the vehicle, not on the sliding roof control relay.
9) Connect sliding roof sub wire to sliding roof control relay.
10) Check voltage and resistance at following condition.
If any of measured value does not follow above standard values, replace sliding roof control relay.
After all inspections are done, put limit switch, wire terminals back to sliding roof drive gear assy coupler and install limit switches to sliding roof drive gear assy. Finally reinstall sliding roof drive gear assy to the vehicle.
