Headlamp: Adjustments
HEADLIGHT AIMINGVertical and Horizontal Adjustment
NOTE: Unless otherwise required by local regulation, adjust headlight aiming according to the following procedure.
1. Make sure the following.
1. Place vehicle on a flat surface.
2. Adjust air pressure of all tires to a specified value respectively.
3. Move vehicle body up and down by hand.
4. Have someone (approx. 68 kg/150 lb) sit in driver's seat.
2. Open hood.
3. Adjust vertical aiming by turning vertical aiming gear.
Bubble in indicator should be centered as shown illustrated.
4. If headlight assembly is replaced by new one, proceed to step 5. If not, adjust horizontal aiming by turning horizontal aiming gear until "O" mark comes to the center line.
5. Close hood.
Inspection
1. Make sure the following.
1. Place vehicle on a flat surface and blank wall 7.6 m (25 ft) ahead of headlight surface.
2. Adjust air pressure of all tires to a specified value respectively.
3. Move vehicle body up and down by hand.
4. Have someone (approx. 68 kg/150 lb) sit in driver's seat.
2. Turn headlights on low beam.
3. Check to see if hot spot (high intensity zone) of each beam illuminates wall as illustrated.
Clearance "H": Approx. 80 mm (3.15 in.)
If hot spot of each beam is not set properly, check headlight(s) for installation and vehicle body around headlight(s) for deformation.
4. If headlight assembly is replaced by new one, adjust horizontally by turning horizontal aiming gear and proceed to step 5.
5. With stopper unlocked arid horizontal adjusting gear and horizontal gauge not engaged, align "O" mark on horizontal gauge with center line of stopper. In this state, lock (and engage) horizontal gauge by pushing down stopper.
