DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING:

- When performing a road test, select a place where there is no traffic or possibility of a traffic accident and be very careful during testing to avoid occurrence of an accident.
- Road test should be carried out with 2 persons, a driver and tester, on a level road.

1) Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Clear DTCs in TCM and ECM memories by using scan tool.
3) Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4) Turn O/D off switch OFF. (Confirm "O/D OFF" lamp does not light.)
5) Shift selector lever to "D" range and hold it for 20 seconds or longer.
6) Drive vehicle with 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear in "D" range in that order at 15 km/h (10 mile/h) or more for longer than 10 seconds each referring to Automatic Gear Shift Diagram.
7) Stop vehicle and turn ignition switch OFF.
8) Report Step 3) to 6) one time.
9) Stop vehicle.
10) Check DTC, pending DTC and freeze frame data.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "A/T System Check" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to A/T System Check.

2. Check shift solenoid valve-A or -B for operation referring to Solenoid Valves (Shift Solenoid Valves and TCC Solenoid Valve) Inspection.

Are they in good condition?
YES
Clean fluid passage or replace valve body assembly.
NO
Replace shift solenoid valve-A or -B.
