Removal and Installation

Suspension Control Arm / Bushing Removal and Installation

Removal
1. Remove stabilizer bar.





2. Remove suspension control arm ball joint bolt (1) and nut (2).





3. Remove suspension control arm bolts (1).
4. Remove suspension control arm (2).

Installation





1. Install suspension control arm as shown but tighten suspension control arm bolts (1) only temporarily.





2. Install suspension control arm ball joint to steering knuckle. Align ball stud groove with steering knuckle bolt hole. Then install ball joint bolt (1) from the direction as shown in figure. Tighten suspension arm ball joint nut (2) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Suspension arm ball joint nut (a): 60 Nm (6.0 kgf-m, 43.5 ft. lbs.)
3. Install stabilizer bar.





4. Lower hoist and vehicle in non-loaded condition, tighten control arm bolts (1) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Control arm bolts (a): 90 Nm (9.0 kgf-m, 65.0 ft. lbs.)
5. Confirm front wheel alignment.
