Stabilizer Bar and/or Bushings Removal and Installation
Removal
CAUTION: To avoid the risk of being burned, start your work after the exhaust system has cooled down.
1. Hoist vehicle.
2. Remove stabilizer link nuts. Then remove stabilizer joints from stabilizer bar. When loosening link nut and joint nut, hold stud with wrench.
3. Remove stabilizer mount brackets.
4. Remove stabilizer bar.
Installation
1. Loosely assemble all components in reverse order of removal.
2. With painted mark (2) on stabilizer bar and end face of mount bushing (1) aligned, tighten mount bracket bolts temporarily by hand at this step.
NOTE: If painted mark has faded out, align the vehicle center and the center of stabilizer bar.
3. Lower hoist.
4. Tighten each bolt and nut to specified torque. When tightening, hold stud with wrench.
Tightening torque
Stabilizer bar mounting bracket bolts (a): 23 Nm (2.3 kgf-m, 17.0 ft. lbs.)
Stabilizer link nuts and joint nuts (b): 50 Nm (5.0 kgf-m, 36.5 ft. lbs.)
