Removal and Installation
Right Case Removal1. Remove differential gear assembly (1) from right case (2).
2. Remove bolt and then pull out VSS (3).
3. Remove input right bearing (1) stopper bolt (3) and plate (2).
4. Remove input right bearing (1) by using special tools.

5. Remove input shaft oil seal (1) by using special tools (combination of bearing remover and sliding shaft).

6. Also pull out countershaft right bearing cup (2) by using special tools.

Right Case Installation
1. If reverse gear shift lever (1) has been removed, fasten it with 2 bolts after applying thread lock cement with distance "a" between lever end and shaft bore set to specified value.
Distance between lever end and shaft bore
"a": 5 mm (0.2 inch)

Tightening torque
Reverse gear shift lever bolts (a): 23 Nm (2.3 kgf-m, 17.0 ft. lbs.)
NOTE:
^ Distance "a" can be measured by installing reverse gear shaft provisionally.
^ When "a" is 5 mm (0.2 inch), clearance between reverse idler gear groove and shift lever end will be 1 mm (0.04 inch).
2. Install input shaft oil seal (2) facing its spring side upward. Use special tool and hammer for installation and apply grease to oil seal lip.

3. Install countershaft right bearing cup (3) by using special tools and hammer.

4. Install input right bearing (1) by using special tool and hammer

5. Install input right bearing (1) stopper plate (2) and bolt (3) applied with thread lock cement.

Tightening torque
(a): 10 Nm (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 ft. lbs.)
Left Case Installation
1. If input oil gutter has been removed, install it with bolt to which thread lock cement has been applied.

Tightening torque
Input oil gutter bolt (a): 10 Nm (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 ft. lbs.)
2. Install differential side oil seal (1) until it becomes flush with differential side bearing retainer surface by using special tool with hammer, and then apply grease to its lip.
NOTE: Face oil seal spring side inward.

3. Install counter shaft left bearing cup into case bore by tapping it with plastic hammer lightly.
